ABOUT OUR CHURCH   
We are a local body of baptized believers who are saved by their faith in Jesus Christ and who meet together to worship and praise Him and proclaim His salvation to those around us, teach the Word, disciple the believers and minister to the needs of our brothers and sisters in Christ.
1.   We are an autonomous (independent and self-governing), democratic body in which the members are equally responsible and decisions are made by the congregation.
2.  We have Scriptural officers are the Pastor and Deacons.
3.  We are affiliated with the Baptist General Convention of Texas.
 
ABOUT ORDINANCES (Commands from God)
1. Baptism - Immersion (being “dunked”) is not a requirement for salvation, but rather an act of obedience. Baptism is the outward expression of the salvation which has already occurred.          We are commanded to be baptized. It is a symbol of the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus - a symbol which shows that the believer has died to “self”, is buried with Christ and has become a new creation in Jesus. 2.  The Lord’s Supper (sometimes referred to as Communion) is a symbol of Jesus’ sacrifice for us - His broken body and His shed blood. As we take the Lord’s Supper, we remember what Jesus did for us and look forward to His return. Matthew 26:26-30; Mark 14:22-26; Luke 22:14-20
 
ABOUT GOD, JESUS AND THE HOLY SPIRIT
1.   We believe that these three are One and Co-Equal. Genesis 1; Matthew 3:13-17
2.  We believe God is the Creator of all things created and that He always was, always is and always will be - without beginning and without end. Exodus 3:14; Psalm 90:1-2; Psalm 93:1-2
3.  We believe Jesus is the One and only Son of God, born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died on a cross for the sins of all people, rose from the grave, today is alive with God in heaven, and, when the time is right, will come to earth again in His glory.
4.  We believe that all who repent and believe in Him will have eternal life with Him. John 3:16;      Luke 1:34; Matthew chapters 26/27/28
5.  We believe that the Holy Spirit lives within us to convince us of sin, to teach as we study the Bible, to pray for us and to comfort us in our times of need.

  ABOUT THE BIBLE
We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God (GOD-breathed to the authors). 

“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness."    II Timothy 3:16; John 8:32
 
  ABOUT SALVATION
1.  We believe “for it is by grace you have been saved through faith and this is not from yourselves. It is the gift of God - not of works, so that no one can boast”  Ephesians 2:8. 
2.  We must realize that we are sinners, repent (be sorry for, regret) of our sins and put our faith in Jesus Christ.  1 John 1:9
3.  Salvation is the free gift of grace alone through faith alone.
4.  We believe in the security of the believer - once saved, always saved. Ephesians 2:8-9;       Romans 10:9-10, 13; John 10:27-30           

 HOW DO YOU JOIN OUR CHURCH0
1.   By profession of faith (trusting in Jesus) and asking to be baptized.
2.  By “letter” from another Baptist Church.
3.  By a statement that you are a scripturally baptized member of a church which believes what Baptists believe.

 
WHY DO BAPTISTS.................
GO TO CHURCH
 1.   Worship is like breathing, eating and sleeping to a Christian. As we worship we grow and mature in our walk with God.
2.   As we are faithful in worship and praise, we receive blessings that we can get in no other way. 
3.   We become a part of something so much bigger than we ever imagined.
4.   Our lives take on new meaning.  Look around you and see who the joyful people are.
5.   We worship for the joy of worshiping. Psalm 95:6; Psalm 122:1; Romans 12:1
 
PRAYER
 1.   Prayer is conversation with God.
2.   We pray to stay in touch, to develop a closer relationship to God.
3.   We pray because God tells us to do so.
4.   We pray because God answers our prayers and gives us the desires of our hearts (as long as we pray in His will).
5.   We pray because there is power in prayer.
6.   We pray because prayer changes us.
7.  We pray because it matures us in our faith and in our service to our Lord.

STUDY THE BIBLE
 1.   We are so fortunate that we have God’s written Word so readily available to us. The early Christians had to trust their memory, rely on hearing the scriptures and share the few writings they had.
2.   We study the Bible for the same reasons we pray - to see what God wants from us, to build our faith and to grow in our Christian walk. Psalm 119:11

GIVE
 

OFFERINGS
1.   Tithes and offerings are the means by which we support our church and reach out in the ministry to those in our community.
2.  God has given us so much we should “...give cheerfully....for God loves a cheerful giver”.
3.  Giving is a personal matter and each person should seek God’s guidance in this matter.
4.  Tithe actually means ten percent. Perhaps the question should not be “How much MUST I give?” but rather “How much CAN I give?”

Pray and God will help you decide.    Matthew 6:19-21; 2 Corinthians 9:7
 
DO GOOD WORKS
1.   If good works don’t save us, why should we do them? Simple! When we are saved the Holy Spirit indwells our hearts. Faith in Christ changes us and makes us a loving, compassionate people. 
2.   The Bible says we are “created in Christ Jesus to do good works” (Ephesians 2:10) so that is the reason we do them.
3.   God’s grace flows into us and we must let it flow out to others.
4.   The greatest happiness is found in serving others.  Luke 9:23; Ephesians 2:10
 
LOVE AND SERVE OTHER PEOPLE
1.   We love God because He loved us first. We love other people because God pours His love into us and that divine love must flow through us to other people.

2.  We love and serve because Jesus set the example for us to follow.
